About the exhibition:
The unalienable rights marked in the Declaration of Independence, “Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” are a reality for some but withheld from others. Black communities and communities of color are often marginalized from these freedoms and are disproportionately impacted by the rising costs of living, education, healthcare. So we ask, what does it look like to live in a world that invests in our future as much as it profits off our culture?

About Lionel Milton
New Orleans artist Lionel Milton’s art has become well recognized by collectors and companies throughout the world. For decades his colorful style has vibrantly demonstrated energy with ubiquitous appeal and eclectic charm.
Over the years, Milton has been commissioned and collected by the likes of Uber, Capital One Bank, ESPN, Red Bull ,P&G, and Heineken. Growing up in a culturally rich place like New Orleans heavily influenced and continues to inspire his artwork.

He is internationally recognized for his mix of contemporary and classical painting techniques that exhibit diversity and intense imagery. Shakor inspires the imagination and feeds the human spirit. About Artist Journey Allen
Born and raised in New Orleans, Artist Journey Allen is a local visual artists, muralist, and arts educator whose vibrant depictions of the city's celebratory culture was inspired by her childhood experiences of attending second lines, Super Sunday Black Mardi Gras Indian Street Exhibitions, and taking walks through the French Quarters with her mother and younger brother. Journey's works can be identified by the intense colors of her signature abstract design that is often woven into the foreground or background of many of her compositions.
About Gabrielle Tolliver
Gabrielle Tolliver, a New Orleans native, has been surrounded by different art forms her entire life. Through the cultural influence of the city, Tolliver has used visual arts to explore the themes of the human form, emotion, and their relationship. Basing her work primarily in abstraction, Tolliver’s compositions implement the use of audacious color palettes and automatic drawings. By combining intuitive creation and strategic arrangement, the compositions are able to display the beauty of chaotic forms and their interactions.
