The KUUMBA ACADEMY is Ashé Cultural Arts Center’s youth program initiative.
For over a decade, the Academy has continued its commitment to doing as much as we can in order to leave our communities more beautiful and beneficial than when we inherited them by using cultural arts as a vehicle and foundation for youth development.
Kuumba Academy Summer 2023 and Summer 2024 is generously supported in part by a Community Arts Grant made possible by the City of New Orleans as administered by Arts New Orleans.
KUUMBA 2024
Serving youth ages 6-16, Kuumba engages young people in an exploration of African philosophy and culture through artist-led workshops in various media that will expand their critical understanding of individual and collective purpose - past, present, and future. Kuumba encourages young people to think critically through activities that center fun and curiosity.
Tuition: $400, $100 per each additional child
